Between Slieve Meelmore and Slieveloughshannagh on the Mourne Wall Slieve Meelbeg (meaning little mountain of the ants) is one of the 7 peaks over 700m in the Mourne Mountain range and affords excellent views of Fofanny Dam, Lough Shannagh and the Blue Lough.
It is most easily accessed from the Ott Car Park walking a trail on the slopes of Ott to meet the Mourne Wall, turning left ascend Slieveloughshannagh then Slieve Meelbeg to the summit.
